Instructions in case of sewer problems or of plumbing backing up.
If you are on a sewer system and your plumbing fixtures are backing up, the problem could be with the utility sewer. Or, the problem could be due to clogging of the service line on your property.
If any of your
neighbors not in the same building are
having similar problems, it could well
be a problem with the utility sewer. You
should report the problem to the utility
providing your sewer service. The
utility will send a crew to fix the
problem or else notify you that the
problem is in the plumbing on your
property. If you are not getting a
response from the utility company,
please report the problem to the Health
Department at (561) 837-5900.
If the problem is in the plumbing on
your property, it is your responsibility
to correct the problem. (If you are
renting please notify your landlord or
the property management company. If they
do not respond then report the problem
to the Health Department at (561)
837-5900.
After hours and on weekends the Health
Department can be contacted by calling (561) 582-5666 (A. G. Holley Hospital).
These instructions are also applicable to
problems of overflowing manholes and pump stations.
