The mother and child were in their yard near Sandlefoot and 441 Sunday when a raccoon began approaching the family dog. The young man interceded and the raccoon turned on the boy inflicting the bite. The mother and a neighbor killed the raccoon and rushed the boy to the hospital where he was treated and began the rabies shot series as a precaution. With today’s confirmation the three additional rabies shots will be administered over the next 14 days.
