BAY, FL Tanner Park will be the healthiest place in the community Saturday July 7, 2001 when it plays host to the Health Awareness Fest 2001 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
The festival is a joint effort between the Palm Beach County Health Department, Jamaicans of the Palm Beaches, Comprehensive AIDS Program and the Childhood Immunization Coalition. According to the Health Departments Regional AIDS Coordinator Serenia Beckton, this event will be a lot of fun for the whole family. There will be games and food included with many of the great services available like school physicals and free immunizations. Beckton added, Doctors and Nurses will also be available to do cholesterol testing, HIV testing, sickle cell screenings and more.
Health Fest is a way to generate community awareness about HIV/AIDS, communicable/infectious diseases and at the same time get an early start on getting children ready for school by bringing their shots up to date.
