RIVIERA BEACH—In honor
of National Black HIV/AIDS
Awareness Day Sunday, April
13, 2005 there is a
motorcycle ride scheduled
from the Riviera Beach City
Hall to Barracuda Bay Water
Park where an afternoon
health fair is scheduled.
Beginning at 11:30 AM The Knight Rider’s Motorcycle Club will
be assembling all interested
riders at the Riviera Beach
City Hall. From City hall
they will follow a route
throughout Riviera Beach and
West Palm Beach that
culminates at Barracuda Bay
Water Park, 1621 Blue Heron
Boulevard.
From 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Barracuda Bay there will be a
health fair which includes
food, fun, music, give-a-
ways and health screenings
sponsored by City of Riviera
Beach Parks and Recreation
Department, Comprehensive
Aids Program, Palm Beach
County Health Department,
Urban League, America Group,
Palm Beach County, Child
Outreach and others.
In the State of Florida it is estimated that 1 in 46 blacks
are living with HIV
infection. HIV/AIDS
Awareness Day is a way to
provide information on HIV
testing and other issues
affecting the health of the
black community.
