BELLE GLADE/PAHOKEE , FL– The Palm Beach County Health Department Health Centers here are adding add ional times and days to better accommodate students needing back to school physicals and immunizations.

The C.L. Brumback Health Center, 38754 State Road 80 offers immunizations everyday, Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM by appointment and to a limited number of walk-ins. The center has added Saturday, August 12, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM as a day to get physicals and school shots just before school starts August 16.

The Pahokee Health Center, 1200 East Main Street, will offer school shots and physicals from July 25 through August 10 between 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM with extended hours on August 9th until 7:00 PM.

New and transferring students are required to show proof they have completed their series of school immunizations which include mumps, measles, rubella, diphtheria, tetanus, polio, hepatitis b and pertusis. All students entering seventh grade also need a tetanus booster and those entering any elementary grade through fifth grade should get the chicken pox vaccine if they haven’t had the disease or been previously vaccinated. Health officials are reminding the parents of all other previously enrolled Palm Beach County School age children to review their student’s immunization records before the start of school to be sure they have met all the requirements.

Preschoolers are also required to have received their required immunizations prior to enrolling in child care or family day care.

Information can be obtained by calling the CL Brumback Center at 561-996-1600 or the Pahokee Health Center 561-924-0184.
