RIVIERA BEACH, FL-The
Community Health Division of
the Palm Beach County Health
Department has been taking a
holistic approach to what
makes this community healthy
now and in the future. Three
strategic issues have
emerged:
-
How will the county
consistently improve
health outcomes of its
residents?
-
How will quality,
equitable, affordable
and accessible health
services be linked?
What can be done to
create an affordable,
safe and caring
environment for all of
our residents?
The third in the series of five workshops on how to create a
healthy community with
these strategic issues
in mind, will take place
February 6, from 9:00 AM
to 1:00 PM at the Mamye
Fredricks Builiding,
1440 Martin Luther King
Blvd. Riviera Beach.
This workshop will cover
two areas,
Employment/Money and
Food and public input is
welcome.
February 6 form 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM
Employment/Money and Food
will be discussed at the Mayme Fredricks
Building, 1440 Martin
Luther King Boulevard,
Riviera Beach.
Hosting the workshop
Employment and Money will be
representatives from
University of Miami and
the Economic Counsel
with a vision of how a
community can provide
plentiful jobs for
everyone and where
individuals can move up
a career and
socio-economic ladder.
Leading the Food
workshop will be
representatives from
United Way, Palm Beach
County Health Department
and CROS Ministries with
a goal of providing
fresh healthy food and
water in sufficient
supply to individuals
and families so no one
goes hungry.
Two other workshops covering, Environment, Physical Activity,
People/Family,
Transportation/Travel
will take place through
February at other
locations in the county.
The Community Health Division has been developing plans and
strategies that will set
the direction of health
in our community over
the next 10 years.
