H1N1 FLU UPDATE PALM BEACH COUNTY

    PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL - Palm Beach County Health Department continues to make the H1N1 vaccine available through its health centers in Delray Beach, Lantana Lake-Worth, West Palm Beach, Riviera Beach and Belle Glade by appointment and on a limited availability walk-in basis.

The following public vaccination clinics are scheduled on a first come first serve basis.

Saturday, November 7th
St. John’s Missionary Baptist Church
900 Seacrest Blvd.
Boynton Beach
10:00a-2:00p (Registration begins 9:30am)
**REGISTRATION MAY BE STOPPED EARLY WHEN THE MAXIMUM NUMBER OF CLIENTS IS REACHED.
Tuesday November 10th
United Methodist Church
900 Brandywine
West Palm Beach
9:00a-3:00p

 
Thursday November 12th
Boca Glades Baptist Church
10101 Judge Winikoff Rd.
Boca Raton
4:00p-7:00p
Saturday November 13th

    At this time the Live Attenuated Intranasal Vaccine or "mist" version is the primary vaccine available at these sites. The mist is for healthy children 2 years to 24 years, care givers who are healthy up to age 49 of babies under six months, and health care workers with direct patient contact.

The Health Center sites have been taking 250 appointments per day and can be reached by calling 1-888-411-4FLU (4358).

As always practice flu prevention:  

  • Avoid close contact with people who are coughing or otherwise
    appear ill.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
  • Cover your cough and sneezes
  • Wash hands frequently to lessen the spread of respiratory illness.
  • Stay home if you are sick.
