Community Water Fluoridation
Community water fluoridation, a proven and safe method to reduce dental
decay, has become available in various communities throughout Palm Beach County as a direct result of the Palm Beach County Health Department. Activities are continuing to provide this excellent
preventive benefit to more citizens in Palm Beach County.
Oral Cancer Screening
The Palm Beach County Health Dept. is currently involved in oral cancer
screenings for several teams of Major League Baseball. The screenings provide access to oral cancer education, prevention, early detection and treatment options.
Head Start Screenings
The dentists at the Palm Beach County Health Department conduct annual dental
screenings for the children of the Head Start Program at Palm Beach Community College. These screening exams allow the Head Start Program to refer only those students in need of dental treatment
services to dental providers, thus saving the program the cost of unnecessary examinations.
