Behavioral Health Initiative

Currently developing the behavioral health initiative: a
collaboration between community partners to counsel and provide behavioral interventions as necessary.

Comprehensive School Health Services
|
|
Services to students include Health appraisals, counseling, and
referrals as needed. Additional services includes:
- Health and immunization record review Nutrition assessment
- Classroom health education
- Acute care for emergencies
- Vision screenings.
- Scoliosis screenings.
- Physical screenings
- Dental screenings
- School staff in-services Health consultants to faculty and administration.

Immunization Programs
|
|
Developed and maintained by Palm Beach County In
collaboration with the Division of Epidemiology and Disease Control to provide outreach throughout the county to ensure that the students of Palm Beach County are in compliance with state
immunization requirements.

Pre-K Early Intervention Program
|
|
Pre-K Early Intervention Program maintained and supervised by
School Health. The focus is on preparing healthy children for entry into school by having physical exams, lead and anemia screening, immunization services and nutrition counseling.

Wellness Centers
|
|
Florida Atlantic University and the Health Department have
identified five schools as "wellness centers". These clinics are set up primarily after hours. The goal is to provide an access point for patients with little or no accessibility to
health care; assist these patients in finding a medical home; and enhance preventative medical care.
